Astilbe x arendsii 'Fanal', also known as False Spirea, this perennial is an excellent choice for that shady spot in your garden. Fluffy blood red spikes above dark bronze foliage, makes a great cut or dried flower. Prefers a rich, moist, acid soil in partial shade. Although Astilbe's are easy to grow, they do require a lot of water. Increase your watering as the foliage emerges and the plumes mature.
