Abelia are tough, semi-evergreen, flowering shrubs that that work wonderfully as foundation plants. They bloom in the spring and keep their leaves year-round so you'll always have something to show with them! Abelia thrive in the sun, and need well drained soil. Abelia Little Richard has a dense compact habit lending itself to be a wonderful low growing hedge. In the summer it blooms with nice white flowers and come fall it's leaves turn purple-green and stay that way into winter.
